If you are like many ambitious marketing professionals, you have reached a career plateau and you are planning on taking the next step toward attaining your goals. That step might just be earning your Master of Business Administration in Marketing.
It is also likely that you have accomplished some of your personal objectives by now, which may include starting a family or owning a home — two notable accomplishments which can unfortunately deplete the short-term funds you need to pursue your MBA.
Twenty years ago, you would have to work for years in a job you had outgrown before pursuing an on-campus MBA that cost upwards of six figures. You would then have to put your career on hold while you spent two or more years pursuing your degree and possibly going deep into debt. The pressure of this scenario prevented many intelligent, motivated marketing professionals from reaching their potential. Fortunately for you, times have changed.
A Degree Designed for Working Professionals
Today, you can earn an MBA in Marketing online from the reputable, ACBSP-accredited Northwest Missouri State University — the school ranked #1 among the "Best Online Colleges in Missouri" by SR Education Group in 2019. You can accomplish this career- and life-changing goal online, while you work, in as few as 12 months with our accelerated curriculum.
With total program tuition of just $12,300 for in-state or out-of-state students, you can likely afford to start earning your degree this year, rather than delaying the progress of your career. You can even pay for each course as you enroll. By next year, you can become an MBA graduate and find yourself qualified and in demand for rewarding positions that may be currently out of reach. This is education as it was meant to be — an accessible, affordable springboard to opportunity.
Northwest's MBA in Marketing program was developed with input from regional and national employers. The curriculum meets today's business requirements and anticipates tomorrow's. It provides graduates with expertise in strategic and global marketing, business decision analysis and financial management. Employers have a vested interest in filling their talent pipelines with professionals ready to hit the ground running, and universities like ours work with them to align MBA curricula to real-world demands.

The core MBA courses cover disciplines including managerial accounting, financial management, strategic marketing and organizational behavior in administration. The three marketing concentration courses are as follows:
MKTG 55631: International Business - A study of current problems and theory relating to the structure and operations of international business, based on the overarching themes of globalization, privatization and liberalization.
MKTG 55635: Advanced Marketing Communication - Otherwise known as promotion, this course focuses on how marketers inform, persuade and remind potential buyers of a product in order to influence an opinion or elicit responses essential for its long-term viability.
MKTG 55636: Global Marketing Management - An examination of marketing practices in the global context, focusing on marketing strategy and execution, environment analysis, competitive strategy, and marketing ethics.
Upon graduating, you will have the knowledge and skills you need to take on the most coveted roles in marketing. Many graduates choose digital marketing, multichannel marketing and e-commerce, to name a few of the areas at the center of the action. The field of advertising, promotions and marketing holds many opportunities, with a 10% (faster than average) job outlook between 2016 and 2026 and a median salary of $132,620 per year, according to 2018 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Achieving the career you want is no longer the hazy dream it might have been for someone in your position just 20 years ago; your goals are now well within your reach.
