In what ways do you connect with online students?
I use email, text, phone and Facebook to stay in touch with students.
What do you want your students to take away from class?
I hope that each of my students gains an understanding in the theory that supports what we do in our educational venues, allowing the theory to serve as the launching pad for practical application.
Why did you start teaching?
I am one of those teachers that began teaching when I was seven years old in my garage to my stuffed animals! As I went through school, culture, language and unique needs and opportunities helped to shape how I became a teacher. The feeling of helping people to enrich their lives keeps me in the profession.
What advice would you give to your online students?
Always look ahead to what is expected in the week. Don't leave the learning, assignments and work to the last minute. If you have questions, access the videos, announcements and other helpful information, but if your questions remain unanswered, reach out!
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the field in which you teach?
To be successful, you need to be organized, have a caring heart and a drive to help others to reach their true potential.

"Almost a Woman" by Esmeralda Santiago
What do you do when you need a laugh?
I love to watch comedies on Netflix or Amazon. I also am fortunate that I married a funny man who keeps me laughing!
