What do you want your students to take away from class?
Basic understanding of accounting and the role that it plays in business.
Why did you start teaching?
I love helping others. I am a lifelong learner and hope to pass on the passion for learning new things. I also hope that my passion for accounting plants a seed of enthusiasm in students that fear accounting.
What advice would you give to your online students?
The advice that I give to all students is ask questions! I want you to feel comfortable and to understand that I started where you are many years ago. I got here by asking a lot of questions. As an online student, I would add to manage your time well. The online environment requires you to be self-driven. It is easy to put off your coursework when working a full-time job, taking care of children or other family members, etc.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the field in which you teach?
Open minded, compassionate, a good listener, and a passion for their discipline and education.
What do you do when you need a laugh?
TikTok or comedians on Netflix.
