Steps To Being Admitted Into Our Online MBA in Business Analytics Program

At Northwest, we’ve streamlined the admission process to help you get started quickly and easily. Please read the requirements for the MBA in Business Analytics online, including what additional materials you need and where you should send them. The requirements include:

Admission Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Resume detailing professional experience
  • 3 years of work experience or acceptable GMAT/GRE score

Required Documentation

Applicants to Northwest’s MBA program who have a bachelor's degree in business* from a regionally accredited university must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and one of the following:

  • Three years of continuous professional, full-time work experience
  • Three years of continuous full-time U.S.-enlisted or commissioned military service
  • Graduate degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • 3.50 or higher undergraduate GPA
  • GMAT score of 440 or above
  • Admission index of 1100 (undergraduate GPA x 200 + GMAT)
  • GRE score of 285 or above
  • Admission index of 965 (undergraduate GPA x 200 + GRE)
  • 70th percentile or above score on the Major Field Test for Business

*In addition to the general requirements prescribed by the Graduate School, all students without an undergraduate degree in a business field must successfully complete the MGMT 54201: MBA Business Foundation course before any graduate course.

Macroeconomic models, business fluctuations, and macroeconomic policies will be studied, available empirical data will be analyzed, and their relevance to business decision-making will be examined.

The application of mathematical and statistical methods to business decision-making in the various fields of business. Topics cover a number of subjects, including quality management, linear programming and queuing problems.

This course will introduce students to basic statistics from a data science perspective. Statistical methods are a key part of data science. The primary objective of this course is to explain how to apply various statistical methods to data science, how to avoid their misuse and to give advice on what is important and what is not. Topics include exploratory data analysis, data and sampling distributions, statistical experiments and significance testing, regression and prediction, classification, statistical machine learning, and unsupervised learning. It starts with simple statistics and then move on to statistical methods used in data science algorithms. The concepts learned in this course should help students learn the statistical techniques required to implement data evaluation in data science tasks such as data cleaning, mining, and analysis.

This course covers the design and development of exploratory diagrams and graphics for various data sets. The course may include concepts such as chart and graph design, networks, topological graphs, display of multi-dimensional data, effective use of space and color, animations, interactive visualizations, mapping, cartography, web data acquisition, and advanced visualization tools. Prerequisite: Coursework equivalent to general statistics and programming.

This course will introduce students to various techniques available to extract suitable information (business intelligence, BI) from the large volume of data an organization can use to help managers make better business decisions.

This course focuses on IT product and service selection and evaluation based on financial considerations including return on investment, time cost of money, depreciation, and system life. It includes key measurements for software development and project management, and a methodology for selecting the best measurements. In addition, students will use Microsoft Excel extensively to build financial analysis models.
