What You Need to Know About Our Online Management MBA Before Applying
At Northwest, we’ve streamlined the admission process to help you get started quickly and easily. Please read the requirements for the MBA in Management online, including what additional materials you need and where you should send them. The requirements include:

Required Documentation
To apply to the MBA in Management program without submission of a GMAT or GRE score, you must submit an official bachelor's degree* with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from a regionally accredited university plus one of the following:
- A resume including three years of continuous, full-time professional work experience
- A resume including three years of continuous, full-time United States enlisted or commissioned military service
- 3.5 overall undergraduate GPA
- Graduate degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- A score in the 70th percentile or above on the Business Major Field Test
If you do not meet the above requirements, you may apply if you have a bachelor's degree* with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from a regionally accredited university plus one of the following:
- A GMAT score of 440 or above
- A GRE score of 285 or above
- 3.5 overall undergraduate GPA
- An admission index of 1,100 (undergraduate GPA x 200 + GMAT)
- An admission index of 965 (undergraduate GPA x 200 + GRE)
*Applicants to the MBA program who do not have a bachelor's degree in business are required to successfully complete the MBA Business Foundation course as your first class, which is designed specifically for students who are new to business curriculum.

A Look at the Online MBA in Management Curriculum
For the MBA in Management online, the curriculum is comprised of 10 courses (30 credit hours), including 21 hours of core courses and 9 hours of electives.
ACCT 51646: Managerial Accounting
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course is designed to give the student an understanding of the accounting concepts that are useful in making managerial decisions.
ECON 52654 Managerial Economics
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
Managerial Economics is the application of economic analysis to managerial decision making. The course applies basic economic theory to day-to-day business decisions and long-run strategy and explores how economics affects the firm and the external environment in which the firm operates. Topics include: economic models, supply and demand theory, elasticity, regression analysis, firm and consumer behavior, production functions, cost analysis, forecasting, and firm organization and structure.
FIN 53621: Financial Management
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
The course includes financial statement analysis, financial planning, capital budgeting, and valuation.
MGMT 54611: Business Decision Analysis Tools
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
The application of mathematical and statistical methods to business decision-making in the various fields of business. Topics cover a number of subjects, including quality management, linear programming and queuing problems.
MGMT 54616: Organizational Behavior in Administration
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
A consideration of various behavioral concepts which are found in organizational settings and which have implications for management personnel. Emphasis is on practical application of various topics such as teamwork, leadership, motivation, organizational change and development.

An examination of contemporary business practices utilized by successful organizations. Emphasis is placed on understanding current issues faced by senior management. Can be taken only during the last trimester of enrollment.
MKTG 55630: Strategic Marketing
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
An examination of contemporary marketing practices built around the strategic marketing process. The central focus is on becoming a customer-focused organization. Areas such as understanding customer satisfaction and customer value, as well as delivery and applied measurement issues, are explored.
Students must choose three of the following courses.
MGMT 54628: Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course examines the process of entrepreneurship from identification and evaluation of opportunities to methods for exploiting these opportunities. General approaches to developing and commercializing innovative opportunities are presented in conjunction with the feasibility of these opportunities. Special attention is provided to the pursuit of funding for the exploitation of these opportunities and exit strategies for the venture.
MGMT 54620: Advanced Human Resource Management
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
An overview of human resource management with concentration on areas of special interest to managers, including recruitment, selection, training/development and compensation. Special emphasis on legal and ethical concerns.
MGMT 54652: Managing Compensation and Benefits
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
In the 21st century global economy, managers are challenged to rethink traditional approaches to designing compensation packages to attract suitable employees. This course examines the design of compensation and benefit plans intended to appeal to qualified and suitable employees. Emphasis is on how successful compensation packages can enhance recruitment, quality of employee work life, higher productivity, higher morale, and reduce employee absenteeism and turnover.
MGMT 54654: Organizational Training and Development
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course provides a solid background on the fundamentals of training and development for complex organizations in the 21st century. It focuses on needs assessment, transfer of training, learning environment design, methods and evaluation and examines the models that enhance the best training and development practices suitable for rapidly changing environments.
MGMT 54660: Data Mining For Business Applications
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course will examine the fundamental principles of data mining and how data mining techniques can enhance management decision making. Understanding data mining will change the way business leaders think of data and its influence in business decisions. The increasingly volume and speed of data generation require business leaders to methodically analyze data. This course will apply data mining techniques on industry cases to develop data-analytic thinking.
MGMT 54662: Business Decision Support Modeling
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course emphasizes formulation of business models widely used in industries and interpretation of results. The course will introduce how to use important analytic methods such as spreadsheet modeling, optimization, Monte-Carlo simulation. These basic principles and techniques of applied mathematical modeling for managerial decision-making will allow you to recognize their assumptions and limitations, and to employ them in decision making.
MGMT 54667: Business Analytics & Decision Modeling
Duration: 7 weeks | Credit Hours: 3
This course focuses on the processes and practices of transforming business data into business intelligence. An understanding of data storage and retrieval is an integral component to building useful information to support business decision making. The course provides a framework for quantitative decision making, effective budgetary allocation and economic efficiency.
