This innovative and student-centered online program from the School of Health Science and Wellness gives you the ability to design learning experiences by utilizing current education trends, technological integration, theoretical framework and professional standard alignment. You will build an employer-ready portfolio throughout the program, culminating with an experiential capstone project.
In this program, you will focus on effective teaching methods useful in a variety of settings with diverse student needs, develop evidence-based initiatives to enhance healthcare outcomes, learn to formulate innovative curriculum, evaluate principles of prevention and health promotion, and assess nursing theories and concepts.
Our nursing faculty have both academic and industry experience to ensure your education has real-world applications. Plus, you will have regular contact with a faculty mentor and a nurse expert who will both be available to consult about your progress and help maximize your learning.

Our certificate online program offers affordable, pay-by-the-course tuition, which is the same for in-state and out-of-state students. There is a $35.00 per course fee.

At Northwest, we’ve streamlined the admission process to help you get started quickly and easily. Please read the requirements for the Nurse Educator Certificate online, including what additional materials you need and where you should send them.
Admission Requirements:
- BSN degree from a regionally accredited institution
- GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Nursing license Active and unencumbered
Required Documentation
To apply for the Nurse Educator Certificate program, you must have:
- An official undergraduate transcript from an accredited nursing program showing you have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in BSN coursework
- An unencumbered United States issued Registered Nursing license
Conditional Admission—Progression Policies
Students entering the program with Conditional Admission status will attain full admission to the program with the following:
- Must earn grade of B or higher in first three (3) MSN core courses.
- First two courses are taken singly and cannot be taken expedited (2 courses at a time)
Conditionally admitted students, initially enrolled in eight or more hours, who withdraw from all graduate classes during their enrollment as a conditional student, will also be suspended from graduate study for one calendar year. Re-admission is possible after one year by application for re-admission to the program.
