Quality MBA Faculty at Northwest Missouri

The Faculty

Here is an overview of selected online MBA faculty.

Dr. Casey Abington is an Associate Professor of Economics. A two-time recipient of the Dean’s Award — for Exemplary Teaching and Exemplary Research — Dr. Abington teaches financial management courses.

Dr. Benjamin Blackford is an Associate Professor. He received an Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) International Teaching Excellence Award in 2014 and a Northwest Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award in 2014. In addition, he received the Tower Service Award for Academic Advisor in 2014. Dr. Blackwell teaches courses in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Tolina Fufa is an Assistant Professor. He has studied in both Africa and Japan as well as the United States. He teaches Macroeconomics for Business Managers.

Dr. Claudia Hernández Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor of Management. She has taught in both Mexico and the United States. She also has experience working in the operations and human resources areas of the service industry and as an entrepreneur. Dr. Hernández Gonzalez teaches Organizational Behavior in Administration and Advanced Human Resource Management.

Dr. Chi Lo Lim is a Professor of Management. She has studied and worked internationally, and she has served as a representative for global firms. Dr. Lim teaches the Executive Seminar course, which covers contemporary business practices of successful organizations. In addition, she teaches a course on the Evolution of Quality Management and another on Problems in Business.

Dr. Stephen Ludwig is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Director of Northwest’s Booth School of Business. He has served as a faculty member and worked in private industry. Dr. Ludwig worked as an audit manager with accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), as a controller in private industry, and as a business manager in a nonprofit organization. He teaches Managerial Accounting.

Dr. Tiebing Shi is an Associate Professor. He received a 2017 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education. A two-time recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Research, Dr. Shi teaches Global Marketing Management.

Dr. Deborah Toomey is an Assistant Professor. She holds a doctorate in business administration and teaches the Advanced Marketing Communication course.

Dr. Jim Walker is a Professor of Marketing. He is a recipient of the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award and the AMA’s Teacher of the Year award. He teaches Strategic Marketing.

Dr. Tekle Wanorie is an Associate Professor. He teaches courses in Quality Improvement Techniques and Business Decision Analysis Tools.
